HOW WE DO BUSINESS

Our technology

All of our services are provided through an internet-based solution that empowers businesses by automating and accelerating the screening of applicants and vetting of suppliers – without the need to purchase any hardware or software. Using any internet browser you need only access our website and submit the application or vendor information. With access to hundreds of information sources, Nationwide Screening Services offers a technologically sophisticated answer to the growing necessity of pre-employment screening and vetting that is easy, fast and effective. Our robust IT platform includes:

  • Incorporated integration capabilities with existing Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), and Property Management Systems

  • Available integration packages for many other employment and property management software products.

  • The ability to produce and send online background releases and confirmation request letters.

  • The option of generating and sending compliant Adverse Action letters yourself, or having Nationwide do it for you at the touch of a button

Our production staff members are all Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) certified, and are retested annually by the National Credit Reporting Association. In addition to FCRA certification, they are actively involved in many professional organizations, including National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS), Consumer Data Industry Association (CDIA), National Credit Reporting Association (NCRA), Employer’s Association of New England (EANE), Connecticut Association of Not for Profits for the Aging (CANPFA), New England Affordable Housing Management Association (NEAHMA), and New England Human Resources Association (NEHRA). All of our management staff are members of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Nationwide maintains rigorous FCRA compliance, and we help our client companies to ensure their own compliance. If needed, we can help them to develop a policy that documents their process for compliance, consistency, and the avoidance of discrimination in hiring.

How we work

As soon as you submit the application or vendor information through our website, our investigators view and assess it, then automatically search through the relevant online databases. All credit bureaus, government records, criminal and court records, real estate and property records, and DMVs are just a some of many data resources we access directly. With a few keystrokes, letters requesting official confirmation of prior employment, educational achievement, certifications and other personal information are generated and sent. Each inquiry has its own file. This is where information is stored as the investigation progresses, and it can be accessed at any time to incorporate new data, make changes, or review the client’s screening status.

Technological compliance, reliability and security

Nationwide is partnered with Verizon Business, a tier-one data center, and our web ordering platform boasts an enterprise-grade application architecture that ensures your screening data is secure and accessible on a 24/7 basis. The center is currently being reassessed and will soon be upgraded to the more stringent SSAE 16 (SOC 1 and SOC 3) auditing standards.

Our software platform is compliant with all PCI-DSS requirements, and has been approved for the internet delivery of credit report data by each of the three national credit bureaus, including Experian’s rigorous EI3PA certification.

Unlike other screening companies that host on their own servers, your data will be secured behind physical and electronic barriers that include bunker-style construction with biometric access; system redundancy and daily data backup; multi-layer SSL encryption/decryption channels; third-party penetration testing; SAS Type II, SOX, and PCI certifications; and Massachusetts 201 CMR 17.00 compliance. Servers are clustered to provide immediate and seamless routing to another server in the unlikely event of a hardware failure. In short, your data could not be more available and more secure than it will be with Nationwide.
